Rento — Privacy Policy

Rento (“the App”) is a property-management app operated by WaoBasket (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information the App collects, how we use it, and your choices. By using the App you agree to this policy.

Who the App is for

The App is used by landlords/property managers and their tenants to manage rentals — rent dues, payment records, maintenance requests, lease documents, and identity documents required for tenancy.

Information we collect

• Account & contact details — name, mobile number, email, WhatsApp number, occupation.
• Identity documents — ID proof number and photos of ID documents you upload (e.g. front/back).
• Tenancy & payment records — your unit, lease terms, rent and utility charges, payment dates, and payment-proof images you choose to attach.
• Maintenance requests — the details you submit.
• Technical data — a secure sign-in token stored on your device to keep you logged in.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and the App contains no ads.

How we use your information

• To provide the service — show your dues, record payments you submit, store lease/ID documents, and route maintenance requests.
• To let your landlord/property manager administer your tenancy.
• To keep the App secure and functioning.

The photo-library permission is used only when you choose to attach a payment proof or ID image.

How rent payments work

Rent is paid directly from a tenant to their landlord using the landlord’s own UPI ID (a standard India UPI transfer). Rento only records that a payment was made — it does not process, hold, or route the money, and we never collect or store card numbers, bank account credentials, or UPI PINs. Landlord subscription payments are handled separately on our website.

How your information is shared

• With your landlord/property manager, who manages your tenancy in the App.
• With our hosting/infrastructure providers, solely to operate the service on our behalf.
• We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
• We may disclose information if required by law.

Data storage & security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on secured servers; uploaded files are kept in access-controlled storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account/tenancy is active and as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations. You may request deletion (see below).

Your choices & rights

• View and update your profile details in the App.
• Change your password in Profile → Change password (tenants) or Menu (landlords).
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and data by emailing us (see “Account & data deletion”).

Account & data deletion

To delete your Rento account and associated personal data, email ailearner.ali@gmail.com from your registered email or with your registered mobile number. We will verify your identity and delete your account and personal data within 30 days, except records we are legally required to retain (e.g. financial/tax records), which are kept only for the required period and then deleted.

Children

The App is intended for adults (tenants and property managers) and is not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
